Whitehaven fight back to claim victory over Oldham

Oldham were unable to follow up last week's stunning Challenge Cup win over Hull KR as they slipped to a 14-6 defeat against Whitehaven.

The Roughyeds, buoyed by their 36-22 success against the Super League side, opened the scoring through a Jack Holmes try, with Lewis Palfrey adding the extras.

But Whitehaven hit back with two converted tries of their own before adding another two points in the second period to wrap up victory and climb above their opponents into ninth spot.
