Broncos hit back to see off Whitehaven

London Broncos remain second in the Kingstone Press Championship after they came from behind to claim a 16-12 victory at Whitehaven.

The visitors were 12-4 down at the interval, but 12 unanswered points in the second period saw Andrew Henderson's side emerge victorious at the Recreation Ground.

The Broncos made a bright start as William Barthau muscled his way over the whitewash after four minutes. The hosts responded moments later as Connor Holliday's converted score put them 6-4 in front.

Craig Calvert ensured Whitehaven went into the break with a healthy lead as he crossed, with full-back Louis Jouffret kicking his second conversion.

But Barthau crossed over for his second try after 61 minutes before Nick Slyney barged through to score right under the posts.

Wes Naiqama added the extras to edge London ahead and their defence held firm in the closing stages to secure the win.
